One vineyard. One wine. Made once, without additions.
Rodina is a family project, not a winery in the usual sense. We make a single wine, in vanishingly small quantity, from fruit we choose ourselves.
The word is Russian — rodina, homeland. It is what you carry with you when you live between places, and what you plant when you decide to stay. And it hides a second reading, the true one: Ro, for Roman, and Dina, entire. A homeland can be a person.
The 2025 was grown at Bedrock Vineyard on the Sonoma Valley floor, among vines planted in 1888. It was raised quietly in French oak for a full year, topped only with its own wine, and goes to bottle with nothing added and nothing taken away that the wine did not ask for. In the glass: forest floor, black and blue fruit, fine resolving tannin — nothing jammy, nothing pruney. Zinfandel with the signature of a Pinot Noir winemaker.
